Supervised visitation across Lakewood

Lakewood is Jefferson County's largest city — roughly 155,000 residents stretching from Sloan's Lake's western edge down to Bear Creek Lake Park, and from the Denver line west to the foothills at Green Mountain. Families here are spread across a wide area, and most supervised visitation providers schedule from one fixed office — forcing the parent who lives farthest away to absorb the cost of every additional mile.

TruVisit Denver does it differently. Our supervisors meet families at mutually convenient public locations across all of Lakewood, chosen with the child's comfort and the court order's safety conditions in mind. We don't charge mileage. We don't charge travel time.

Lakewood areas we regularly serve

  • Belmar — central Lakewood's downtown district
  • Green Mountain — west Lakewood at the foothills
  • Applewood — north Lakewood, near the Wheat Ridge line
  • Union Boulevard corridor — the Federal Center area
  • Morse Park & Eiber — along the W Line corridor
  • Bear Valley & Bear Creek corridor — southeast Lakewood
  • Solterra & Rooney Valley — far west Lakewood
  • Lasley & Westgate — south-central Lakewood

Common Lakewood meet-up locations

Locations are selected case-by-case based on the court order, the child's age, and what makes sense for the visit. Public, family-appropriate venues we use regularly:

  • Belmar Park and the adjacent Kountze Lake trails
  • Addenbrooke Park (central Lakewood)
  • Crown Hill Park (north Lakewood)
  • Bear Creek Lake Park family areas
  • The Belmar shopping district (indoor and outdoor options)
  • Jefferson County Public Library — Belmar branch
  • Family-appropriate restaurants throughout Belmar and the Union corridor
  • Indoor play areas and recreation centers across the city

Colorado winters bring snow and sudden cold snaps. From November through March we lean toward indoor venues — libraries, indoor play areas, and the Belmar district — so weather never compromises visit quality.

Jefferson County family courts

Lakewood family law cases are heard in Colorado's First Judicial District (Jefferson and Gilpin counties) at the Jefferson Combined Court, 100 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden. Our session reports are formatted in the objective, non-editorial, timestamped style this court expects.

Supervised parenting time in Colorado is governed primarily by Title 14, Article 10 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, including the parenting time restriction standard at C.R.S. § 14-10-129. For the broader process, see our guide to the Colorado family court process.

If your court order is from the Jefferson County District Court Have a copy of the order ready when you call. The two things we most need to confirm during intake: the type of supervision ordered (full supervised parenting time vs. monitored exchange vs. therapeutic), and any specific location or duration requirements written in the order. We can typically schedule a first session within 48–72 hours of intake completion.
